If you had a hard conversation this week, what's left now isn't the fight. It's a calmer question: how do we make this fair for both of us?
It might look like this. You and your partner argued about the holiday budget, and within ten minutes you were back on a grudge from three years ago. A couple of days later you pick the topic up again, without raised voices, with a sheet of paper that says who pays for what. A colleague who has barely said hello since your clash over a project comes over and says, "Let's just split who does what." Or you notice that you've lost the urge to prove you were right. You just want things to be even.
This is Venus retrograde in Libra. On 25 October, Venus (the planet of relationships, taste and money) moves back from Scorpio into Libra. She is still retrograde, which means that from Earth she appears to be moving backwards. Venus turns direct on 14 November at 22°51′ Libra and re-enters Scorpio on 4 December.
The short version. The sharpness has gone, the question hasn't. It's just no longer "whose fault is it?" but "what would be fair?"
What changes when Venus returns to Libra
Venus already moved through Libra this summer, from 6 August to 10 September. Then she crossed into Scorpio, stationed retrograde on 3 October and spent three weeks backing over Scorpio's first degrees. Those were the weeks when everything hit harder: jealousy, suspicion, "do you even value me?", conversations about debts and shared money that slid straight into relationship post-mortems. We covered that stretch in Venus Retrograde 2026: Is It Love or Just Habit?
On 25 October Venus crosses the sign boundary in reverse. Scorpio's intensity and possessiveness let go, and interest in balance comes back: who puts in how much, whether the roles are split fairly. Settling "who's right" gets easier than it was two weeks ago.
From "who's right" to "what's fair"
In Scorpio, Venus asked what you really feel and what you've been hiding. In Libra she asks how to arrange it: who calls first, who gives way, who pays what, whose weekend plans count for more. These are duller questions, but they have answers. You can't settle a grudge with a clause in an agreement. You can settle "let's split the bill" in one sentence.
Money: from suspicion to arithmetic
The same shift shows up with money. Scorpio asked, "Am I trusted, or am I being used?" Libra asks, "Is this exchange fair?" It becomes easier to sit down and do the sums: the joint budget, your share of the rent, what your work is actually worth. A conversation that sounded like an accusation last week can now be held as a negotiation.
This isn't the final word yet
Venus keeps moving backwards until 14 November, so whatever you agree will still be fine-tuned. Before she turns, Venus barely moves, and the theme lingers longer than you'd like. If by mid-November it feels like you're starting the same conversation for the third time, that's normal: it's being worked into a shape you can both actually keep.
Three days when it's easier to agree
While Venus is in Libra, she forms three gentle angles to planets in Leo. These aren't events, just days when conversations flow more easily. A 60° angle (a sextile) is one of the calmest there is: for a day or two, the two planets' themes pull in the same direction.
- 4 November — Venus and Jupiter (generosity, growth). A good day to offer a truce or discuss how to divide something big: money, a home, a shared project.
- 10 November — Venus and Mars (desire, action). It's easier not just to agree but to make the first move: call, set a date, say "let's try again."
- 28 November — Venus and Jupiter again, this time with Venus moving forward. A good day to lock in what you agreed earlier in the month.
Venus retrograde in Libra for each sign
Here's how the theme moves from one house of your solar chart to the next one back. For the first weeks of the retrograde it ran through the house where you have Scorpio; now it returns to the house where you have Libra. If you know your rising sign, read that too: it usually gives a sharper picture (more in our guide to the Sun, Moon and rising sign).
Aries: partnership is about the deal again
The theme leaves your 8th house (shared money, trust) for the 7th, partnership. Partnership is about the deal again, not about relitigating the relationship. A good time to say out loud what each of you expects from the other, whether that's a partner in love or in business.
Taurus: the division of work needs an honest edit
From the 7th house (partner) to the 6th: work and daily routine. The way work is divided needs an honest edit: who actually gets things done and who is just on the list. Venus rules your sign, so you'll feel this turn earlier than most.
Gemini: love feels lighter, minus the drama
From the 6th house (work, routine) to the 5th: love, pleasure, creativity. Relationships feel lighter, without the drama of recent weeks. You could go back to a romance or a hobby you dropped over the summer and see whether you still like it.
Cancer: who does what at home
From the 5th house (romance, children) to the 4th: home and family. Family balance: who does what around the house, who helps your parents, whose word settles things at home. The conversation goes more smoothly if you bring a concrete proposal rather than a list of complaints.
Leo: talks with people close to you soften
From the 4th house (family) to the 3rd: your inner circle, siblings, messages. Conversations with people close to you get gentler. Mars and Jupiter are both in your sign, and on 4 and 10 November Venus makes an easy angle to them — good days to be the first to make peace.
Virgo: a fair price for your work
From the 3rd house (messages, inner circle) to the 2nd: money and self-worth. A fair price for your work is back on the table. If this autumn you agreed to less than you deserve, now is the moment to name your number calmly.
Libra: you can finally breathe
From the 2nd house (money, self-worth) to the 1st: you. You can breathe more easily: Venus, your ruling planet, is back in your sign. It becomes clear what you want to change in your relationships and in yourself, but anything irreversible is better left until at least 14 November. That goes double for anyone born around 15–24 October.
Scorpio: the inner tension eases
From the 1st house (you) to the 12th: what stays out of sight. The inner tension lets go. For three weeks the retrograde ran through your own sign; now the theme turns inward, into dreams, a journal, a quiet conversation with yourself. A good time to spend some hours alone and decide what from this October you can let go of.
Sagittarius: friendships up for new terms
From the 12th house to the 11th: friends, communities, shared plans. Friendships and alliances are up for new terms. Which group have you been giving more to than you get back? You can now raise it without anyone taking offence.
Capricorn: work roles get reviewed more calmly
From the 11th house (friends, networks) to the 10th: career and reputation. Roles at work are reviewed with less heat. A good time to agree with your manager on who is responsible for what, though a new contract is better signed after 14 November.
Aquarius: agreements about study or travel
From the 10th house (career) to the 9th: study, travel, people far away. Agreements about a course or a trip: who goes, who pays, when. A class or a journey you shelved in the summer may come back into your plans.
Pisces: shared money without the heat
From the 9th house (study, travel) to the 8th: shared money, debts, trust. Shared finances can be discussed without things boiling over. You can go through a joint budget, a loan or an inheritance question without turning it into a test of feelings.
Who feels Venus retrograde in Libra most
The backdrop is the same for everyone, but some people will notice these weeks more. In Libra, Venus covers the stretch from 22°51′ to 30°, so the people who feel her most are those with something in those degrees.
- Born around 15–24 October. Your Sun sits in the last degrees of Libra, and Venus will cross it twice: backwards until 14 November and forwards until 4 December. At the edges of that range it depends on your birth year, so check your chart.
- Born around 12–21 April. Your Sun is at the end of Aries, directly opposite. The relationship question is more likely to come from someone else: a partner suggests revisiting what you agreed.
- Born around 15–23 July or 13–21 January. Your Sun is at the end of Cancer or Capricorn, at a right angle to Venus's path. It feels like friction: you want to reach an agreement, but home or work keeps getting in the way.
- Taurus and Libra. Venus rules both signs, so her path colours almost everything.
- Anyone with natal Venus in Libra. For you this is especially about balance in relationships, not intensity.
How to find Venus retrograde in Libra in your chart
Your Sun sign gives a rough idea; your natal chart gives the precise picture, built from your date, time and place of birth. If you haven't explored your chart yet, start with our guide on how to read your natal chart.
Step 1. Which house holds 23°–30° Libra
Find the end of Libra in your chart and see which house it falls in. That's the area of life where "what would be fair?" gets worked out until 4 December. If you remember what Libra season brought up between 23 September and 23 October, the theme will feel familiar — more in Libra Season 2026.
Step 2. Do you have a planet at 23°–30° Libra
If you do, Venus crosses that stretch once more by 14 November and again by 4 December, drawing the theme out over several weeks. She first stood there in early September, so think back to what was happening in your relationships or with money then. Here are the windows:
- 29°–30° Libra — backwards 25–27 October, forwards again 2–4 December.
- 26°–29° — backwards 27 October – 1 November, forwards again 27 November – 2 December.
- 23°–26° — continuously from 1 to 27 November: this is where Venus turns, and she lingers here for almost a month.
Step 3. Where your natal Venus is
With natal Venus in Libra, this period is especially about balance in relationships rather than intensity. With Venus in Scorpio, the sharpest weeks are behind you, but the conversation isn't finished. For what your Venus sign means, see Venus in Your Natal Chart.
And one question for yourself: if you had a hard talk about feelings or money last week, now is the time to agree on how things will actually work.
What to do
- Propose concrete terms instead of the vague "let's be fair." Not "you never help," but "I cook on weekdays, you cook at weekends."
- Write down what you agreed, even if only for yourself. A dated note on your phone already counts.
- Go back to the conversation that ended with a slammed door in early October. You can open with a question rather than a verdict.
- Take an honest look at what you give and what you get back: time, money, attention. No blame, just numbers.
- If you can choose the day for an important talk, choose 4 or 10 November.
What to avoid
- Drawing a final line under a relationship. A break-up, an engagement or a move is better postponed until at least 14 November.
- Rushing the ending: until 14 November Venus is still refining the agreement.
- Agreeing just to keep the peace. Libra loves things smooth, and it's easy to say yes simply to avoid an argument. That kind of yes doesn't hold.
- Reopening a hurt you've already talked through. If you reached an agreement about it, a second round adds nothing.
